Annual Wage Review Decision 2015 - Draft Determinations Now Available

Recently we advised you of the Annual Wage Review Panel decision to increase the National Minimum Wage NMW and modern award wages by 2.5 per cent, commencing the first pay period after 1 July 2015

The Fair Work Commission has published draft determinations giving effect to the decision for each of the modern awards and the NMW. They are in draft to allow interested parties to review them prior to finalisation and publication of the orders.

We will advise you once the formal orders have been published. In the interim you may read and download the draft award wage and the expense-related allowances determinations for each of the modern awards on the Fair Work Commission website.

In summary, the decision provided for:

  • NMW increase to $656.90 per week ($17.29 per hour) applicable to award-free employees

  • Two special NMW orders for award-free employees with a disability. Employees in receipt of disability pension with full capacity must be paid $17.29 per hour. Employees with less than full capacity receive a percentage of the special NMW in accordance with the Supported Wages System Scale

  • Junior employee (award-free) wage scale based on percentage of NMW

  • Apprentice wages and National Training Wage schedule provided in Miscellaneous Award 2010 applied to award free trainees and first year adult apprentices engaged before 1 July 2014

  • Casual loading of 25%
